During the summer, the Solitude pond is full of “giant” rainbow trout, which kids 12 and under are welcome to try and catch (catch and release only).

If you’re over the age of 12, try your luck with the native brook trout in Big Cottonwood Creek or one of the other nearby rivers. It takes about 30 minutes to reach the blue-ribbon waters of the Provo Canyon, which features some of the best brown trout fishing in the state (UT fishing license required).
